A.O.P. One of Frances oldest cheeses dating back to the 6th century. Heart shaped it, like Camembert comes from Normandy and indeed is similar to Camembert but with a saltier, sharper taste.

Neufchatel is very versatile and can be paired with many wines but in particular a light Californian red, a Sauvignon or a chardonnay.
